Shadow Shot Sunday Images for 29th may 2010

Shadow Shot Sunday

I went to camden market area of London this week and wahat an amazing place it is now. it has been open again after the fire that did a lot of damage to the area and now it is alao open all week as well as at weekends and is only closed on Christmas Day. You can read more about the place if you look back a few entries in this blog. It is so full of colour and amazing smells and fantastic shops, galleries, food halls and the people are just fun!
I was going upsatirs to my flat late yesterday evening and saw this shade of my hat on the wall. l love the way the holes in the straw came out so well in the image!
I love the way the shadows fall on the Memorial site to rememeber the bomb vitims that died on June 7th 2005 in Hyde Park.
The next image is of the people who carry the advertising boards around in Camden market, in the late afternoon.
The last image is of me, playing around with our shadows, when we were walking down to town. Please note that it was hot(!) in London this week, so we wore our hats to ward of sun stroke...don't laugh, it does get up into the 80's sometimes here in London..promise!Hax
Happy Sunday everyonex

The market is a fun destination, and a place to watch the vendors and buyers in action.

The memorial is poignant, the reason for it sad. The shadows almost add a spirit of live, as if the sun will not let the world forget the innocents.

The photographer allows for a fine shadow of herself!

And the memorial is indeed very poignant and like the memorial to the 9/ll victims and may we never forget them. And also, like Ralph, I love the shadow of the photographer!! Wow what a great market. So full of energy, all I would want to do would be to stand and watch the people going past.

I'd love to visit those markets! It was fun to see the punks. I've never been to London but I always associate punks with the area and imagine a lot hang around there :)

Hi, I love those shadow pics... I only wish we had enough sun to create some. The market looks like a fun place to be, such a variety of things to do and see.

I wasn't even aware of the the Old Camden Market had burned down.
Such a shame. One could go there for days, making small stops on nice cafes overlooking the canal.
And buy anything and everything.
Daughter Serina actually bought a gas mask once, as her favorite band at that time wore masks like that when performing.

I do remember that at the end of the day we actually walked in a sea of fast food litter. It's looking much tidier now.

My favorite market street is Portobello Road. I kind of know I get cheated every time I buy an "antique", but it's done in such a charming way, I don't care.

A well known man (don't remember the name just now) wrote, "He who is tired of London, is tired of life."
I agree.
Even if I actually have had a sunstroke in London.
And the pianist in St.-Martin- in- the-Fields insisted on playing her Chopin by candlelight
with hundred lights lit in the Church, even though there were 55 C+ degrees outside.
Ca. 1994-5 -ish. They cannot have had a fire alarm installed back then.
I'm looking forwards to more London walks.
