Fire escape..snow and more snow!

I have been doing a lot of sewing for an exhibition in a few weeks time...so l will show you some items tomorrow.
This the fire escape that my lovely landlord has fitted into my new studio ..aren't the steps great?

This is what we saw out of our window at 10pm last night..yippee!

Still here this morning but l had to go to work..so no playing..shame!

On the bus this guy got on and l just looked the image on the back of his hoody.
Today in The Brick Box, the children were looking at pieces fruit, talking about it and also used magnifying glass to really looking at this fruit. They where also  using lots of interesting and described vocabulary.

The older children were today making cupcakes. They followed a recipe, helped to make the cakes and then decorated them. They had lots of fun, made great cupcakes and l think they learnt a lot about cooking for a cafe.
The snow has stayed around in Putney but there was none in Tooting..very strange! This next image is of the tree just inside my main gates...thought it just looked so beautiful.
This is the way l walked home tonight...very slippery and VERY cold!
Don't know how this happened but l love this image!

My studio...yeh!

Me in my new studio, wrapped up warm as no heating sorted yet!I can watch the trains go past if l get bored!Ha!..as if!
This will be my own studio area and office space. Has nothing in really at moment expect a chair and small desk..oh an a paper shredder!

This is the other end of the room looking from the window.
This shows you the door to the main studio and one to the store cupboard and loads of book shelves. Tony will be so pleased when all the stuff is out of the flat!Ha!
This is the store room which has a square safe in it..would you believe! Behind the mirrored doors are LOADS of shelves!!

This is the main Studio on the left as you enter the studio.

This is the right hand side of the room and you can see the door to the kitchen.
This is the loo that used to have a door on the outside of the building but now it has an inside door. Yippee!
Peeping into the kitchen......l have suddenly realised l have no images of the tidy kitchen!!
Kitchen full of "stuff" that the landlord has left for me. I have now moved it all into their correct place...for now!

 The adventure starts...........
saw this in my way home.....almost all the snow has gone except for this lonely snowman!

Snow and bundle opening day!!

The snow has almost gone...not fair!!!!!

Today is "ironing and show" day......so here goes. This is my large silk piece l wrapped with banana skins and then dyed in red onion skins...l am so in love with it. This is what it looked like before l unwrapped it!I left it foe weeks..so proud of myself!Ha!
This is what it looks like now after being washed and ironed..love it.
This image has l think a figure in it..can you see it?
Here is the whole piece being ironed. Have not decided what l am going to do with it yet but l think l may use it as a whole piece.

I see a figures and maybe a cat in this....what do you see? Ha!
This was a shawl l originally dyed with Eucaylptus but was not happy with it..so l re-dyed it using blueberries. This is what it looked like then.....! Very dark and purple and when l unwrapped it, was not sure l liked it at all.
I was not sure l liked this when l unwrapped the bundle and left it to dry. It was a very dark purple in colour and looked really un-naural. Then after leaving it to rest for a week, decided to wash it agin and was going to then re-dye it. I had quite a surprise when l started to rinse it, loads of colour came out. I though all the unset colour had come out the first time. But this time the colour that was left was just what l had hoped for. I am happy! just the sewing to do now.

A wonderful Sunday and WALES WON!!!!!!!!!!

Just before l start this entry, l just have to say this. Yippee..Wales won against Ireland today, in Ireland. Way to go guys!

Look what l received in the post this week...isn't it beautiful? It is a "Curious Element" from my Artist soul mate Dayna, in Portland, USA. I have sent her some eco-dyed and stiched patches.....doesn't seem enough after receiving this beautiful piece of work. I know how much work goes into each piece.
Am so glad the snow settled and stayed overnight....just love snow.

Today's self-portrait is my new boots and wonderfully warm boot socks!!

We needed to use the car today, as we were going over for lunch with Jenny. Went to the garage, got into the pocket rocket and pressed the knob to open the garage doors......nothing. Um...what to do? So we reversed back to the entry door and had to go out that way. Felt very strange going out the wrong door!Ha!
This was the first snowman l saw today, which was beside the exit gate of our Estate. It cheared me up no end and made me giggle...someone has a wonderful sense of humour!!!!
Fun and shopping all at the same time!

The white virgin snow on the wires of the bridge made it look so magical.
Went past one of my favorite sights today, Battersea Power Station. It is so  dramatic and powerful looking but is such a wreck. I wish they would hurry up and try and save it before it is to late. One of the other things about this site,is the machinery in the front of the building and the way it sits on the edge of the River Thames. The cranes look like some weird metal animals!

Can you see the Peace sign here in Parliment Square? ..well it used to be quite a large peace camp( loads of tents etc)  but l thought it had been closed down.... BUT...it seems the main guy maybe back again. Will have to investigate....!

This is the beautiful lunch spread our daughter Jenny had set out for us, on her wonderful new table. Don't you just love her jazzy chairs?x

Dad's can be very useful sometimes......helping to fix jenny's wobbly table!
Love the "circle"  that has formed around the sapling outside my front door.
